New membership enquiries are always welcome…
New string players can generally be accommodated immediately. We are also currently on the look-out for trumpeters. New woodwind, brass and percussion players will be accommodated where possible, subject to availability of positions.
The orchestra charges annual or per-concert membership fees to assist in covering its costs. These fees represent excellent value particularly when compared to other recreational clubs. See below for some FAQs and head to our Members Info page for further information about rehearsals and concerts.

Every Wednesday at 7:30pm at the John Leckie Pavilion in Nedlands, WA. (See location map here). We have a break over Christmas, returning when schools go back for Term 1, normally the beginning of February.

As a general rule, no.
Anyone wishing to join should be minimum AMEB Grade 5 standard.

Absolutely! Any new player is welcome to play one free season with us to make sure that they are happy playing with FSO and that it is the right fit for them.

The number of performances we play varies year to year, generally we have 4-5 concerts. The number of rehearsals for each season also varies to suit the chosen program.
